MINDFULNESS MONDAY: It Can Wait

The new campaign reminding us to tune into the road by turning off our cell phone resonates with me.  I once gave up using my cell phone in the car for Lent (40 days).  The result?  Friends wanted to know where I'd been! My friends deserve more of my attention than I can give while navigating traffic signals and pot holes.  The other more painful reason is this roadside memorial to a teenager in our community who died in a one car accident, on an ordinary spring shower kind of evening.  He was a "distracted driver." So sad.
Be mindful- Let's use our driving time for driving, beautiful music, light conversation with passengers, and being present in the moment.

IT CAN WAIT

  1. Admittedly, that's a very tough thing to do, which in itself is sad. I often put my phone in my purse in the back seat just to keep from looking at it. What's really scary is watching cars go by and seeing how many people are distracted. Thanks for a good reminder to be mindful, Lisa!

  2. This is hard for me too, but I love the simplicity of "It can wait." Looking over my messages for the past month, there is nothing that was urgent enough to warrant a safety risk.I hope the campaign can help save lives. I appreciate your support of the post!
