Mindfulness Mondays: Beginning with the End in Mind

Lake Tenkiller Sunset 2015
One of the highlights of "lake life" is sitting quietly on the deck watching the sunset. It cues me to reflect on the day's blessings.  At dusk I pause to quiet my mind- still my body.

This week begin with stillness.  Set your positive intention for a day filled with blessings.

Consider how grateful you would like to feel at sunset.

This week I will begin with the end in mind.

Mindfulness Mondays: Permission to Dream

Santa Fe Sculpture 2014
Do not dismiss day dreaming as idle time.  Positive change requires lengthy "pre-contemplation" which is a fancy term for staring at clouds and setting your imagination free with the spark of "What if . . . "

Take some time this week to let your mind wander where it wishes.  Meander through ideas of what is working in your life and what no longer serves you.

Playfully invite imagination to direct your thoughts towards needed change.

Mindfulness Monday: Curiosity

Suki is a registered therapy dog, my beloved pet, and our muse for mindfulness.  Dogs have a simplified way of engaging in the world that can teach us two legged animals some new tricks about being present to the moment.

I have captured Suki in "back to school mode." Our mindfulness mutt brings curiosity with her wherever she goes and this attitude toward learning can benefit us all.Whether she is sniffing out neighborhood lawns or craning her neck to see and smell what's for dinner, Suki is enthusiastic in her curiosity.

Happy Back to School Oklahoma!

I  WILL BE A CURIOUS LEARNER IN ALL THINGS
